Sikkim
: New Destination to Explore
Sikkim, an erstwhile Himalayan kingdom, acceded to the Indian
Union in 1957. Located in the Himalayas, it is wedged in between
the kingdoms of Nepal in the west, Bhutan in the east and
The People's Republic of China to the north. The greater Himalayas
form natural boundary with Tibet. Mount Kanchanjunga (8,545)
the third highest peak in the world, runs north to south separating
Sikkim from Nepal. The Teesta and Rangeet rivers also offer
the thrill of rafting and fishing.
