Day 01KATHMANDU / NYALAM (3750 m.)
Drive from Kathmandu to the Tibetan border at Kodari / Zhangmu. Continue up the steep switchback road to Nyalam.
Day 02NYALAM / XEGAR (4350 m.)
A remarkable day's drive across the Tibetan plateau with spectacular mountain views from Lalung-La pass (5050 m). Passing through the town of Tingri there are more views of Mt. Everest and Cho-Oyu.
Day 03XEGAR / RONGBUK (5000 m.)
Near Xegar, leave the main highway and head towards Rongbuk Monastery, the highest
monastery in the world. The views up the valley towards Mt Everest are simply stunning.
Day 04 RONGBUK / LHATSE (3950 m.)
After a morning excursion at Rongbuk, drive ahead to Lhatse via Xegar and Dolma - La (5000 m), then descend along the stream to Lhatse.
Day 05 LHATSE / SHIGATSE (3900 m.)
En route, visit Shakya Monastery before crossing the Lalung-La (4500 m) and continuing across the plains to Shigatse.
Day 06SHIGATSEN / GYANTSE (3950 m.)
After visiting the Tashilimpu Monastery, it's a short drive to Gyantse with its amazing sights - Khumbum, Palkor Chode Monastery and Gyantse Dzong.
Day 07GYANTSE / LHASA (3650 m.)
The highlight of this day is the beautiful turquoise lake, Yamdruk - Tso. After crossing the Kamba- La and the Yarlung ( Brahmaputra) River, the journey ends in Lhasa.
Day 08LHASA
Guided sightseeing tour - Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar.
Day 09LHASA
Guided sightseeing tour - Drepung Monastery and Potala Palace.
Day 10LHASA / KATHMANDU
Transfer to Gonggar airport for the flight to Kathmandu.
