Day 01 FLY KATHMANDU / LHASA (3650 m.)
Transfer from Gonggar airport to your hotel in Lhasa.
Day 02LHASA
Guided sightseeing tour - Sera Monastery, Jokhang temple and Barkhor Bazaar.
Day 03LHASA
Guided sightseeing tour - Drepung Monastery and Potala Palace.
Day 04LHASA / GYANTSE (3950 m.)
After crossing the Yarlung (Brahmaputra) River, the road climbs steeply to the Kamba - La with its magnificient views of the turquoise waters of Yamdruk Tso. Continue to Gyantse with its fascinating Kumbum, Palkor Chode Monastery and fort.
Day 05GYANTSE / SHIGATSE (3900 m.)
After the short drive from Gyantse, visit Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama and one of the most important monasteries in Tibet.
Day 06SHIGATSEN /LHATSE (3950 m.)
Continuing across the vast Tibetan plains, cross the Yalung - La before making a sidetrip to Shakya Monastery.
Day 06LHATSE / RONGBUK (EVEREST BASE CAMP)-(5000 m.)
Near Xegar, leave the main highway and head towards Rongbuk Monastery, the highest
monastery in the world. The views up the valley towards Mt Everest are simply stunning.
Day 07RONGBUK / TINGRI (4342 m.)
After a morning excursion at Rongbuk, drive ahead to the small Tibetan town of Tingri. The
magnificent views of Mt. Everest and Cho - Oyu can be seen from the Hotel.
Day 09TINGRI / ZHANGMU (2300 m.)
The last spectacular day of the journey across the Tibetan plateau. On the way, stop for a while at Loblung-La ( 5050 m) from where the breathtaking views of Mt. Shisapangma and Langtang can be seen. The journey continues towards Nyalam, from where the road descends to the border town, Zhangmu, today's last destination.
Day 10ZHANGMU / KATHMANDU
After completing the immigration formalities at Zhangmu and Kodari, return to Kathmandu.
